Long Overdue

My goodness it has been a very long time since I last posted in the blog. Things have really changed since then. I have added two grand children since then. I haven't done much, but I have had a few other things pop up as well. I finally made covers for my machines. Well, the far left is a printer. It will not hook up to the internet for some reason, but it makes great copies, so I use it as a copier.  Will be great for making paper piece pattern copies.  The ink is cheap, so it makes sense. I finally got my Little Buddy attachment installed on my frame.  I can't wait to try it out.  I still have to install the velcro strips for the leaders. Since I make smaller quilts for charity, mostly throw or large crib size, this is supposed to really help. I bit off a bit more than I wanted with a quilt I made using printed squares of various chicken images.   1. The vendor's employees have no idea how to cut printed squares.  Ended up that out of 8 images, was ...

Lost Treasures Found!

Well, so much has been happening around here.  Going through some family issues, nothing major just needed to take care of it.  Then all of a sudden it was the end of March, then Easter, and now in the middle of May.   Sadly, I have not been able to do any sewing, quilting, or organizing of house the last month or so.  We keep thinking we are going to get the garden boxes ready for this season, but then we have a snow storm, then hard freeze several mornings, then another odd bought of snow, days later we had another few days of hard freeze.   All in all, I was sure our shade trees which had just started sprouting the spring leaves had died, but this week has seen lots of new green leaf sprouts.  We lost all the early flowers, fruit from cherry and peach trees.  Apples may have partially survived. They are still small trees so will not be able to make much fruit even under the best of conditions.  The first year I had them, there w...

Back to sewing again....finally.

I am so happy to finally be sewing again.  It has been a long time coming with a lot of hard work that took me way too long due to still have a battle with my energy level since being sick in January. Here it is, I have rearranged and some what organized my space to flow better.  I purchased a Koala sewing desk from my friend that is having to downsize. I still need to get the doors and casters from her, they are in a box in her storage some where, but she is moving in July and will find them then. I am so very excited to have this, it is so substantial and a big work space. I am not having to hold up fabric of quilt tops, garments and is just right for my line of sight to stitch.  Placed in front of the large window - the view out this window is what sold me on this house, well one of the things, when I was trying to visualize my sewing area. A nice window to the side as well.  The only windows in the room. Apparently, the new sewing cabinet appeals to my fini...

Too Long.

WOW! I did not realize how long it has been since I posted.  We were getting ready for a family Thanksgiving and half the family went down with Covid.  We were busy helping my son and his family, taking them food, checking on their kids, our grand kids, feeding their animals.  Since we were helping them, had to distance from everyone else, so Thanksgiving was canceled.   Hubby was able to get our RV repaired.  We had a blow out on the trailer and it destroyed the bathroom and floor of the trailer. He is awesome and does great work. We made it through Christmas of 2021, and a major double hit of snow.  We held our breath as we waited to see if our youngest daughter would be able to get up here before the first storm hit. Which she did and then had to leave on the day after Christmas as soon as we opened gifts so they could get down the hill before the second storm hit. Just getting Christmas dinner and presents set up on a date was a huge feat in ...
