I am actually sewing again. It takes me to my happy place, which I have not been to in a VERY long time. It feels really good to be creating once again, for the most part. More about that a bit later on. This is the view from my sewing room yesterday, as round one was winding down and round two of the summer storm is on the way. Thankfully, we did have a bit of a break on Wednesday and was able to get to town, although I am well stocked up as far as provisions, I had some things that needed to go out in the mail. I know the new, will probably wear off soon, but I really hope not. I have to admit, I am loving being snowed in, which is a surprise for me because I have never liked the cold. Even as a young kid, I didn't like it, for that meant having to go out in the better cold twice a day to break ice in the water troughs. Growing up in Eastern Southern New Mexico, we didn't really get snow, we got ice. Ice would cover the utility wires, the fence wire...

So, winter has finally hit our little part of the world. It started on Sunday night and we were snowed in for two days. Roads in were closed on Monday and Tuesday. I would say, we probably received 6-8" of snow. Honestly, I loved it. This is the bottom of our sliding glass door that leads from our bedroom to the deck. It shows how high up the glass the snow was. Our cat was totally enthralled with the snow as it fell. Of course she had never seen snow before. It was quite comical in fact, watching her take up a position in front of the sliding glass door that goes from the kitchen to the patio. I guess you would call it our back door. She stretched out, tail swishing. It was so cute and funny. Our deck reminded me of fields we passed through in New Mexico and Colorado when I was a girl. They build special wooden fence structures to catch the snow drifts. On our deck, the open space between the slats made a really cool looking pa...

Hello, welcome to "Dianna's Sewcial Craftology Den" and join in my new adventure. I am currently working with two blogs until I decide which I like working with the best. I have started a new journey in my life. We recently moved to a new home, in a new town. I am looking forward to this new life. The downstairs was intended to be a mother in law suite or apartment. I do share the downstairs with a small laundry room. Not to sure about having to go up and down stairs with the laundry all the time, I have never had a house with stairs before. But, I have to go up and down the stairs to enter my "den". F or some unknown reason, I didn't like telling my hubby that I was going downstairs. When it first came up that I was going to name my new sewing room, he wanted to call it the Craft Cave, but I just can't stand the thought of saying "I'm going to the cave." I'm not bat man, and I just hate caves. It is in the lower level of the house...

Starting Out. I decided that I would try my hand at blogging once again. It has been years since I had one, life just got in the way and it just went dormant. So very much has changed since then in my life. My mom died, my kids have all married off and started families of their own. We have recently moved to a new home, new community. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new home. This blog will be about my journey in this new chapter in my life. By the way, my sweet hubby retired as well. Not sure how I feel about that. I have pretty much always been at home, but now he is always here too and I am having to learn how to…shall we say, navigate…around him for the first time in our lives. It is not a bad thing, just a huge difference. So, here I go. Guess I should start by telling you a little bit about me. I am married, we have four children and several grand children, ranging in age from 17 to infant and one more on the way this summer. As I said earlier, we recently moved. For 20 years I was i...
